An Alliance is a multi-country entity that allows countries to cooperate through shared membership, governance, communication, and military support. Each alliance has its own members, leader, laws, development, chat, and rankings
A country may only be a member of one alliance at a time
A country creates an alliance by passing the Create Alliance law.
Creating an alliance requires:
The founding country becomes the alliance's first member, and its President automatically becomes the alliance leader
Countries join alliances through alliance laws
The alliance first passes an Invite Country law, which triggers an Accept Invite law in the target country. Once accepted, the country becomes a member of the alliance
Countries may leave an alliance by passing the Leave Alliance law, while alliances may remove members through the Kick Country law
Alliances can vote on the following laws:
Alliance laws last 24 hours and require more than 50% approval from the Presidents of member countries to pass
Alliance laws currently have no enactment cost
The alliance leader is initially the President of the founding country
Leadership may later be transferred through the Nominate Leader alliance law
Every alliance has its own private chat
Access is automatically granted to:
Alliance members receive a damage bonus when supporting fellow alliance members in battle
The bonus is determined by the alliance's share of the world's total development
Examples:
| Alliance Share | Damage Bonus |
|---|---|
| 15% | +10% |
| 20% | +7.5% |
| 30% | +2.5% |
| 35%+ | 0% |
Each alliance member pays a daily Paper upkeep from its country's inventory
The upkeep is calculated using the country's average development plus 50% of the alliance's total average development
Countries that cannot pay the upkeep become Suspended
Suspended members:
When the last member leaves an alliance, it becomes Disbanded
Disbanded alliances:
Every alliance appears on the Alliance Rankings page, where alliances can be compared by statistics including:
When defending an allied country, region upgrade bonuses are reduced.
The Military Base attack bonus and Bunker defense bonus apply:
Alliance maintenance and other cost calculations use Average Development.
Development is divided into three values:
Average Development is calculated as the midpoint between Core Development and Current Development.
Most mechanics that previously used Core Development now use Average Development instead, including:
