A Defensive Pact is a treaty between two countries
Unlike a Sworn Enemy, a country may have multiple Defensive Pacts at the same time
A country may propose a Defensive Pact by passing the Propose Defensive Pact law
The treaty becomes active only after both countries approve it.
Either country may end the treaty at any time by passing the Break Defensive Pact law
Breaking a Defensive Pact is free
Bonus: applies only when you fight to defend a pact partner's land (not your own land, not a non-pact ally) In a resistance battle it applies to the side reclaiming its homeland.
The damage bonus starts at +1% and increases by +1% per day, up to a maximum of +10% after 9 days
Defensive Pact partners do not receive region upgrade bonuses from the country they are defending..
For example, the Bunker defense bonus only applies to the country's own citizens, while allied countries receive only 50% of the bonus and Defensive Pact partners receive no bonus at all
Each active Defensive Pact requires a daily Paper upkeep
